Built on terraces that rise from the bottom of the lake, in a charming secluded cove surrounded by thick vegetation, it is anchored to the limestone rock both above and in front of it. A round-headed arch set flush with the water in the main façade is the final outlet of an intermittent spring that flows into the lake after passing through the whole underground courtyard. The phenomenon that regulates the alternation of the ebb and flow of the spring at irregular intervals attracted the interest of distinguished scientists from Pliny to Leonardo.
